What is the one technique to relieve stress and anxiety in the moment that's not well known?
Remember: GO SLOOOOOOOOW.
Stay with me, have a think about the last time that you felt tension and stress, what were you doing? Perhaps it was when you were cooking dinner and washing the dishes... often we are trying to race against the clock to finish a task to enable us to get through the next and then the next. Instead of rushing that specific task, complete it slowly.
Find yourself mulling over your to do list while brushing your teeth at 100 miles an hour with your shoulder's up high around your ears. The first step is to notice your body and the sensations without judgement...then slow the brush strokes. Brush your teeth slower and notice how your body responds.
Preparing dinner and notice you have 100 things going at once... slow down your chopping, or stirring or whatever task you're doing and notice what happens in your body.
We are constantly sending our bodies signals, if we slow down our actions, this sends a safer message to the body and the mind.
